Mr V.S.D.L. Surendra holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce and a Masters in Business Administration. He joined the Ministry of External Affairs in 1991.
At Headquarters, he has served in different capacities in Administration, Office of the Minister of State, Consular and United Nation Economic and Social (UNES) Divisions. He also served as Regional Passport Officer Visakhapatnam, India.
His postings abroad include Dushanbe, Tajikistan (1994-1998), Washington D.C, USA (2002-2005), Munich, Germany (2012-2016), Warsaw, Poland (2016- 2019) and Abuja Nigeria (2019-2023).
He is married to Sridevi Velagaleti and has two daughters, Mahitha and Ashrita. He speaks English, Hindi, Telugu and Polish.
